Currently offered exclusively in the following service zones: Zone 1 Sorel-Tracy, Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel, Sainte-Anne-de-Sorel, Saint-Roch-de-Richelieu, Sainte-Victoire-de-Sorel, Saint-Ours, Yamaska, Saint-Robert, Contrecœur, and surrounding areas Zone 2 Drummondville, Saint-Hyacinthe, Berthierville, Nicolet, Lanoraie, Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Pierreville, Baie-du-Febvre, and surrounding areas Availability: Testing can be initiated between October and January. Duration: 3 months (passive dosimeter) What is included: Two visits for the setup and retrieval of the passive dosimeter ("puck"), certified laboratory analysis, and the full report sent by email. Compliant with legal requirements to secure the sale or purchase of a property, the official report issued stands as a recognized industry reference for a period of 3 years. The ideal option for continuously monitoring your home's air quality, this package includes the purchase of your certified connected device, in-home installation, and 2 key follow-up video consultations. Duration: Remote support over a 3 to 8-month period, depending on the test start date, to overlap with the winter heating season. What’s included: Airthings View Radon smart monitor. A premium, wireless, battery-operated device that blends discreetly into your decor. The device is yours to keep for life. Installation Service: Initial in-home visit to properly position and configure the device on your Wi-Fi network. Video Consultations: 2 key meetings; the first 14 days after starting the test to analyze your initial data, observe early trends, and confirm proper operation, and the second after 3 months of overlapping with the winter heating season. Advantage: Live radon level display on the device screen, full access to data via the mobile app, remote tracking, and the peace of mind of a rigorous scientific interpretation. Disadvantage: Does not meet the legal requirements set by authorities governing real estate transactions.

Which type of test should I choose: short-term or long-term? Choose short-term if: You are short on time, for example during a real estate transaction. It provides a fast, official result that complies with legal requirements. Choose long-term if: You are already settled in and testing for your family’s health. Health Canada recommends measuring radon over a 3-month period (ideally in winter) to determine your actual exposure, as gas levels fluctuate from day to day.
Why is the long-term support more expensive than a short-term test? The short-term test is a "snapshot": we deploy our professional device, retrieve it a few days later, and issue the report. The long-term support is a comprehensive service spanning several months. This package includes the purchase of your own smart monitor that you keep for life. The price covers the device, its in-home installation and configuration, as well as two follow-up video consultations to scientifically analyze your home's ongoing data trends.
What is the difference between the various types of devices? The passive dosimeter: This is a small plastic device left in place for 3 months, then sent to an external laboratory. It is the basic, economical method, but it provides no live readings and no charts—only the average value. This service is not currently offered by Test Radon Québec. The residential continuous monitor: A smart, connected electronic device. It measures radon continuously, displays real-time variations on its screen and your phone, and allows you to see the impact of ventilation or weather across the seasons. This is the type of device used in the Long-Term Support Package. The professional continuous monitor: A high-end machine calibrated annually, equipped with motion sensors and tamper-resistant protocols. This is the only device that generates an official, tamper-proof hourly report with legal standing for notaries, brokers, lenders, and insurers. This is the type of device used in the Short-Term Real Estate Package.
